What comes out of the printer
This is the test. Not a preview of it.
A high school World War I unit test, drafted from one sentence and edited once by chat. Left, the copy the students get. Right, the key the teacher keeps.
- A real A4 or Letter page with name, class, date and score fields at the top.
- The answer key is the same document with the answers filled in red and the points totalled. It cannot disagree with the test.
- Pages fill on their own. A table is never cut in half.
- What you see on screen is what the printer gives you, page for page.

4 steps, scroll sideways

Three ways in: upload a test you have, describe the one you need, or start from a blank page.

Say the subject, the grade and how many questions. The test appears on the page as it is written.

Ask for changes in plain words. Every reply comes with a receipt and is one undo step.

Download PDF or Word: the student copy, the answer key, or both in one file.
What you bring, what you get
You bring
- A topic, a grade and how many questions you want
- A photo, scan or PDF of a test you already have
- A PDF or text file of the lesson to write the questions from
- Nothing at all: a blank page and the question cards
The test is written in the language of your account: English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese or French.
You get
A printable test
Real pages, numbered questions, writing space that matches the question. Points shown when you want them.
The answer key, for free
Derived from the answers inside the questions, so it is never out of date and never a second document to maintain.
PDF and Word
Student copy, answer key, or both in one file. Word keeps the layout, with tracing lines and arithmetic grids simplified.
An assistant that edits
Ask for a harder question 4, a word bank on question 6 or a section title. Every change is one undo step.
A drawn copy for younger classes
Press Draw it for the children and the same questions come back as a hand drawn page, in a style you pick.
Eleven question types, one page.
Pick a card and the question is added after the one you selected, with its form open. Section titles and instruction blocks sit between them. Rows can hold two or three questions side by side, the way worksheets for young children are laid out.

The assistant sits beside the page. Ask it to add three questions on the treaty, turn question 2 into true or false, or make the whole test easier for grade 6. It edits the questions in place, leaves a receipt under its reply saying what it touched, and one reply is one undo step. When your request is too thin it asks first, with a proposal you accept in one click, rather than guessing a grade or a length.

Free to build. Pay only for the paper.
Building, editing, previewing and the answer key on screen cost nothing. The download is the one thing sold.
- FreeKeep 3 tests, 10 assistant replies a day, one PDF upload. Build and preview every test in full.
- One test, $4.99Unlocks that test forever: PDF and Word, student copy and answer key, re-downloaded after every later edit.
- Plus, $13.99 a monthUnlimited tests and downloads, no daily count on the assistant, plus everything else in VisualNote AI.

The same test, drawn for the children who read slowly.
One button turns the page you are looking at into a hand drawn sheet in a style you choose: the questions in place, the blanks left blank. Each page costs one drawing from your monthly visuals. Read it before you hand it out: a drawing can occasionally add or mark an answer, so the exact copy is always the PDF.

FAQ
How do I create a test online with the AI test maker?
Open the test maker and pick one of three doors. Describe it: tell the assistant the subject, the grade and how many questions, and the test is drafted onto a real page. Upload a test: a photo, scan, PDF or text file of one you already have comes back as editable questions. Blank test: an empty page and a card for every question type. Whichever you pick, you keep editing on the page until it is right.
Is the AI test maker free?
Building is free. On the free plan you keep 3 tests, get 10 assistant replies a day and one PDF upload, and you see every test in full on screen, answer key included. Only the download is paid: Plus at $13.99 a month downloads without limit, and anyone can unlock a single test forever for $4.99, both formats, both copies, re-downloaded after every later edit.
Which question types can I put on a test?
Eleven: multiple choice, true or false, checkboxes, fill in the blank, short answer, open answer, matching, ordering, table fill, column math and tracing. Section titles and instruction blocks go between them, and a row can hold two or three questions side by side.
Does it make the answer key too?
Yes, and you never write it. The key is the same document with the answers filled in red and the points totalled, derived from the answers stored inside each question. Change a question and the key changes with it, so the two can never disagree.
Can I download the test as Word or PDF?
Both. Pick PDF or Word, then the student copy, the answer key, or both in one file. The PDF is page for page what you saw on screen. Word keeps the layout as real tables and underlined blanks, with tracing lines and arithmetic grids simplified, and the download menu says so where you choose the format.
