Mindgrasp accepts an unusually wide range of sources: PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoint decks, MP3 and MP4 files, YouTube and Vimeo links, article URLs and live recordings. From any of them it generates AI notes, a summary, flashcards, quizzes and a tutor you can question. The outputs are written, with no diagrams or mind maps despite the name.
VisualNote AI takes a narrower set of inputs and does something different with them. Paste text, drop a PDF or a YouTube link and you get a sketchnote, an infographic or a genuine mind map in about 30 seconds, with flashcards and a quiz built from the same material sitting underneath it.

Key Differences
Mindgrasp accepts more file types than we do. PowerPoint decks, Word documents, raw audio and video files and Vimeo links all go straight in, where we would ask you to export to PDF or paste the text. If your semester arrives as a pile of mixed formats, that matters.
Neither the name nor the feature list should mislead you: Mindgrasp does not produce mind maps. Its five outputs are notes, summary, flashcards, quizzes and tutor chat, and all five are text. VisualNote AI produces the actual map, alongside sketchnotes and infographics in more than forty styles.
The trial is the sharpest difference. Mindgrasp has no permanent free tier; you get four days and you hand over a card first, which auto-converts if you forget.
